
Those reviews are currently sitting at an 84 on Metacritic and a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. In case that doesn’t, take note that early reviews are very positive. That should put some ease on the adaptation. Have no fear, fans, for the author of the books, Daniel Handler, is serving as an Executive Producer. The Netflix series will be covering the first four books in eight episodes.

The 2004 film of A Series of Unfortunate Events only covered the first three books. In short, Netflix worked with Paramount to revive the series to bring it all with today’s release. Meanwhile, Paramount did have plans for a sequel, but it never happened due to various strikes at the time. It was successful, but never saw a sequel. The novels follow the children as they move from relative to relative as Count Olaf continues to show up in their lives. Initially, the Baudelaires are left with Count Olaf, a relative who has a hidden agenda to acquire their parent’s fortune. The series follows siblings Violet, Klaus, and Sunny who are thrown into various treacheries after their parents pass away. Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is a thirteen novel children series from the early 2000’s.

Then a year later, Netflix released the first official teaser online. This teaser is considered to be fan-made but it’s hard to say for sure.

Shortly after, a mysterious teaser appeared online. Today, we have the end product available to all Netflix subscribers. It has been a little over two years since Netflix announced the acquisition of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
